Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, usually referred to as just Klagenfurt, is on the eastern shore of Lake Wörthersee. It is the capital city of the province Carinthia in southern Austria, known for its culture, nature and beautiful landscape

Villach is the seventh-largest city in Austria and the second-largest in the federal state of Carinthia. It represents an important traffic junction for southern Austria and the whole Alpe-Adria region. There are several festivals throughout the year including the carnival in Villach (which starts on November 11 and ends on March 4), the arts and crafts festival, Villacher Fasching or Mardi Gras, the streets-art festival, the "Villacher Kirchtag" (a festival spanning a whole week in summer and ends on August's first Saturday), and performances on a floating stage on the Drau River.

Heiligenblut is a municipality in the district of Spittal an der Drau in Carinthia, Austria. The municipal area comprises the Katastralgemeinden of Apriach, Hof, Rojach, and Zlapp. Situated at the northwestern edge of Carinthia at the border with East Tyrol and Salzburg, Heiligenblut is located in a high valley of the Alpine Hohe Tauern mountain range at the foot of the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in Austria, and the Pasterze Glacier. Other peaks include the Johannisberg and the Fuscherkarkopf in the north, both part of the Alpine divide and the border with Salzburg.

Friesach is a historic town in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district of Carinthia, Austria. First mentioned in an 860 deed, it is known as the oldest town in Carinthia. It is located in northern Carinthia near the border with Styria, about 40 km (25 mi) north of its capital Klagenfurt. The medieval town around the Romanesque parish church of Saint Bartholomew and its city walls are preserved in quite good condition. From the 13th century on the Salzburg Archbishops stayed at the Fürstenhof residence. Friesach is also home to the Church of St. Blaise, the Dominican monastery, and the Teutonic Knights' church and hospital.
