Lier is a well-known nightlife center in Flanders. The clubs, such as La Rocca, are well known throughout the region. There are over 70 bars within the city boundaries, the ones around the Zimmerplien being the most lively during summer. Lier is also home to several places of interest. The St. Gummarus Church, built in 14C gothic architecture. The Zimmertoren is a unique clock built in the 1930s. The 18C Town hall is built in rococo architecture. The Beguinage (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and St. Margarite Church, 17th century. The Timmermans-Opsomerhuis museum. The Saint-Peter's Chapel.
