  • Terezín

    After WWII, Theresienstadt was renamed Terezin. After the related war uses, the government retained a military garrison until 1996. In 2002, the fortress was listed in the 2002 World Monuments Watch by the World Monuments Fund. The organization called for a comprehensive conservation plan, while providing funding from emergency repairs. According to the Fund, a long-term conservation plan was conceived, which includes further repairs, documentation, and archaeological research. Terezin is noted for its production of furniture and knitwear, as well as for manufacturing

  • Doubravka castle, outside Teplice

    Teplice is a statutory city in the Usti nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic, the capital of Teplice District. It is the state's second largest spa town, after Karlovy Vary. Teplice is located in the North Bohemia region, near the border with the German state of Saxony. It is situated in the valley of the Bilina river between the slopes of the Ore Mountains in the northwest and the Central Bohemian Uplands in the southeast.

  • Approaching Usti nad Labem

    Ustí nad Labem is a city of the Czech Republic in its eponymous region. The city is the seventh-most populous in the country situated in a mountainous district at the confluence of the Bilina and Elbe rivers. Ustí is a centre for tourism owing to the romantic landscape of the Bohemian Highlands and the Ceske Svycarsko national park. Another local landmark is Sttekov castle is located in a southern suburb of the city.

    Decin is a town in the Ustí nad Labem Region in the north of the Czech Republic. It is the largest town and administrative seat of the Decín District. The town is located in northwestern Bohemia at the confluence of the rivers Elbe and Ploucnice. Decin Castle is probably the most popular tourist attraction in the town, Built on a hill near the town centre and overlooking the Labe river. Other Landmarks in town include the old Synagogue, the Renaissance bridge, Holy Rood Church and Sheep's Bridge. An unusual feature of the castle is the long, straight-walled road leading up to it, the "Long Ride".
