Known for its famous castle associated with Shakespeare's "Hamlet", this bustling city also boasts a few museums and historic sites.
Helsingør (also known as Elsinore) is a city on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. It is known internationally for its castle Kronborg, where William Shakespeare's play Hamlet is set.
The castle itself is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and a production of Hamlet is performed annually in its courtyard since 1937, with a tradition of notable actors performing in the title role.
Other local points of interest are the Danish Maritime Museum and the kulturværftet.
