While Otepaa is known for winter sports, this small town also offers year-round hiking, museums, and several notable landmarks.
Otepaa is a town in Valga County, southern Estonia, it is the administrative centre of Otepaa Parish. Otepaa is a popular skiing resort, popularly known as the "winter capital" of Estonia (in contrast to the "summer capital" Parnu). It is the site of an annual FIS Cross-Country World Cup event.
The earliest surviving firearm in Europe has been found in the ancient castle of Otepaa and it dates to at least 1396.
