Nantes is a city in West France, located on the Loire River, 50 km from the Atlantic coast. Nantes is the capital city of the Pays de la Loire region and the Loire-Atlantique departement, and it is the largest city in traditional Brittany and in the whole Grand-Ouest (northwestern France). Bouffay district, with its place Bouffay is the city's medieval and oldest district close to the castle and the cathedral. Nantes has many Catholic churches, among which the most famous are: Cathedrale Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul (colloquially called "Cathedrale Saint-Pierre"). Eglise Notre-Dame de Bon-Port (also known as Basilica of Saint-Louis).
