Compiegne is a commune in the Oise department in northern France. It is located on the Oise River. The town is home to Château de Compiègne, a castle with museums of the Second French Empire and of motoring and tourism within its walls. Compiegne is home to the famous University of Technology of Compiegne (UTC), one of the top ranking engineering school in France.

This town provides perfect environs for a peaceful walk, as well as an opportunity to explore Napoleon III's immense castle.
