France Poitou-Charentes

Poitiers is a city on the Clain river in west central France. Poitiers is a major university center. The center of town is picturesque and its streets include predominant historical architecture, especially religious architecture and especially from the Romanesque period. Major sights include : Baptistere Saint-Jean (4th century), the oldest church in France; Palace of Poitiers, the seat of the dukes of Aquitaine; Eglise Notre-Dame-la-Grande, oldest Romanesque architecture church in Europe; And more.

La Rochelle is a city in western France and a seaport on the Bay of Biscay, a part of the Atlantic Ocean. Its harbor opens into a protected strait, the Pertuis d'Antioche. The city has beautifully maintained its past architecture, making it one of the most picturesque and historically rich cities on the Atlantic coast. This helped develop a strong tourism industry. La Rochelle's main feature is the "Vieux Port" ("Old Harbor"), which is at the heart of the city, picturesque and lined with seafood restaurants. The city walls are open to an evening promenade. The old town has been well preserved.

Angouleme is a commune in southwestern France. Based on a plateau overlooking a meander of the Charente River, the city is nicknamed the "balcony of the southwest". Nowadays Angouleme is at the center of an agglomeration which is one of the most industrialized regions between Loire and Garonne (the paper industry was established in the 16th century, a foundry and electromechanical engineering developed more recently). It is also a commercial and administrative city with its own university of technology and a vibrant cultural life. This life is dominated by the famous Angouleme International Comics Festival that contributes substantially to the international renown of the city.
