Gyula is a town in Bekes County, Hungary, once occupied by the Ottoman. It is best known for its Medieval castle, whose construction began in the 14C but finished only in the middle of 16C, and was shortly after conquered by the Turks. Another wonderful attraction of the city is the thermal bath, established in 1942 and expanded in 1959. The town has since become a popular tourist destination, boasting a 100 years-old confectionery, 19C Town Hall, Saint Michael Cathedral, and more.
