Hungary Veszprem

Veszprem is one of the oldest urban areas in Hungary, and a city with county rights. It lies approximately 15km north of the Lake Balaton, on both sides of the Sed creek. According to legend, Veszprem was founded on seven hills. The seven hills are Varhegy (Castle Hill), Benedek-hegy (St. Benedict Hill), Jeruzsalem-hegy (Jerusalem Hill), Temetohegy (Cemetery Hill), Gulyadomb (Herd Hill), Kalvaria-domb (Calvary Hill), and Cserhat. Its attractions include a cathedral, the Castle Hill, a bishop's palace, as well as the Kittenberger Kalman Zoo and Botanical Garden.

Tihany is a village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton on the Tihany Peninsula. The whole peninsula is a historical district. The center of the district is the Benedictine Tihany Abbey, rebuilt in baroque style in 1754, and still functioning. This abbey is a popular tourist attraction due to its historical and artistic significance, as well as its view of Lake Balaton. In addition, the village is famed for two local legends - one about an echo that has existed in the area in the 18C and had since abated; and another, concerning a proud princess and "goats' nails" washed ashore from Balaton.

Sumeg is a town in Veszprem county, Hungary, mostly known for the hilltop Sumeg Castle and the surrounding mountains.
