Tel Aviv, a vibrant and exciting city, is a relatively new city in a country that has ancient roots. Founded in 1909 and built on the dreams and hopes of Jews who arrived there from all corners of the world, the city sprung up on the white sand dunes next to the ancient city of Jaffa – the very place where the prophet Jonah descended to escape from his God and on whose shores he was ejected from the belly of the whale. 

"Netanya is the essence of Israeli existence," wrote the Israeli poet Yonatan Geffen - and he was right on the mark. 

Herzliya is an affluent city in the central coast of Israel, at the Northern part of the Tel Aviv District known for its robust start-up and entrepreneurial culture. It has a population of more than 110,000 residents and is Named after Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism. The Herzliya Museum of Art is part of the Yad Labanim memorial complex. West of Herzliya is Sidna Ali, a Muslim holy site. To the northwest is Tel Arsaf and the Apollonia National Park, the site contains the remains of the Crusader town of Arsuf, including a fortress surrounded by a moat. Another archaeological site, Tel Michal, lies on Herzliya's Mediterranean coast 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of Arsuf.

Bat Yam is a city located on Israel's Mediterranean Sea coast, on the central coastal strip. The location of Bat Yam on the Mediterranean makes it popular with beach-goers. Bat Yam has a 3.2 km (2 mi) long promenade along the ocean lined with pubs and restaurants. The city has six beaches, one of which is protected by a breakwater. The Museum of Bat Yam exhibits contemporary art. Other museums include the Ben Ari Museum and Ryback Museum that houses the work of Issachar Ber Ryback. There is also a museum in the memory of the Yiddish writer Sholem Asch, who lived his last years in Bat Yam, and a small Holocaust museum
