Ayutthaya (full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya; also spelled "Ayudhya") is the former capital of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province in Thailand. Located in the valley of the Chao Phraya River, the city was founded in 1351 by King U Thong, who had proclaimed it the capital of his kingdom, often referred to as the Ayutthaya kingdom or Siam. It is estimated that Ayutthaya reached population of 1,000,000 around 1700 CE, making it one of the world's largest cities at that time. In 1767, the city was destroyed by the Burmese army, resulting in the collapse of the kingdom. The ruins of the old city are preserved in the Ayutthaya historical park.

A vibrant town with a turbulent WWII history, Kanchanaburi offers easy access to nearby natural attractions and national parks.

Kanchanaburi is a town municipality in the west of Thailand and part of Kanchanaburi Province. In 2006 it had a population of 31,327. The town covers the complete tambon Ban Nuea and Ban Tai and parts of Pak Phraek and Tha Makham, all of Mueang Kanchanaburi district, and parts of the tambon Tha Lo of Tha Muang district. In the late 19th century, Kanchanaburi was established by King Rama I as a defensive outpost against possible Burmese attacks in what is now Lat Ya subdistrict. In 1833, the town was moved about 16 km towards the south-east along the river to its present site during the reign of King Rama III. Its attractions include poignant WWII memorials.

A small town set in easy distance from the historic capital of the 14C Sukhothai Kingdom, where nearly 200 temples await visitors.

Sukhothai was the capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom. Sukhothai is 12 km west of the modern city of New Sukhothai. Sukhothai was the capital of the Thai Empire for approximately 140 years. As of 2014, 193 temples have been excavated and partly reconstructed. The stele of Ram Khamhaeng states the city had a triple wall and four gates. The Aranyika monastery was west of the city, a great lake to the east, a market to the north, and the Khao Luang hill to the south. Old Sukhothai is a quiet town with almost no hotels. Most visitors stay in New Sukhothai or in the nearby city of Phitsanulok, which has numerous hotels and restaurants and is on the rail line.

Mui Ne is a coastal fishing town in the Binh Thuan Province of Vietnam. The town is a ward of the city of Phan Thiet, and along with the other wards of city that stretch along the coast for 50km, have been transformed into a resort destination since the mid 1990s. Most notably, tourism has developed in the area from the city center to Mui Ne, which has more than a hundred beach resorts, as well as restaurants, bars, shops and cafes. Mui Ne ward has two beaches; Ganh Beach and Suoi Nuoc Beach, both with a number of resorts and a few shops and restaurants. Strong sea breezes make all these beaches very popular for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Other attractions include the scenic Sand Dunes.
