Once a fishing village, Albufeira is now a popular resort town with beautiful beaches, buzzing nightlife and a charming old town.

After sunset, the centre of Albufeira comes alive with bars, restaurants, and shops to suit most tastes, from authentic Portuguese-fare to Irish, English, and Dutch restaurants and pubs. The tourist areas are divided into two main areas, 'The Strip', and the Old Town. The Strip's main street is full of bars, restaurants and open-air discotheques. It is a very nightlife oriented area, very popular with young people. The Old Town is situated at the seafront. The capital of Andalucia, Seville is steeped in its history yet fully embraces the modern-day, providing a full experience.

Seville is a Spanish city, it is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is situated on the plain of the River Guadalquivir. Its Old Town, the third largest in Europe, contains three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Alcazar palace complex, the Cathedral and the General Archive of the Indies. The St. Mary of the See Cathedral was built from 1401–1519 after the Reconquista on the former site of the city's mosque. It is among the largest of all medieval and Gothic cathedrals, in terms of both area and volume. The Alcazar facing the cathedral was developed from a previous Moorish Palace. Construction was started in 1181 and continued for over 500 years.

This village rivals all others in Spain with its striking setting atop a cliff, its whitewashed houses, and impressive churches.

Arcos de la Frontera is a town in the province of Cadiz in southern Spain. The town commands a fine vista atop a sandstone ridge, from which the peak of San Cristobal and the Guadalete Valley can be seen. The town gained its name by being the frontier of Spain's 13th century battle with the Moors.

Zahara de la Sierra

Spain, Andalusia region

Small towns0 nightsTue. May 05

Originally Moorish, this whitewashed town can be reached along a dam, and boasts beautiful surrounding scenery.

Zahara de la Sierra is municipality in the province of Cadiz in the hills of Andalusia, southern Spain. It is perched on a mountain, overlooking a valley and a man-made lake formed by the dam that must be driven over to access the town. It is considered to be one of the 'pueblos blancos' or 'white towns' because the overwhelming majority of the buildings are white. The town was originally a Moorish outpost, overlooking the valley. Due to its position between Ronda and Seville, it was a perfect site for a castle to be built to serve as a fortress in case of attack. The remains of the Moorish castle are still existing. The Garganta Verde canyon is located nearby.

Tavira

Portugal, Algarve region

Small townsNatureActiveHistoricBeaches1 nightTue. May 05 - Wed. May 06

A charming town set on both sides of the Gilao River, home to an ancient castle and a collection of Gothic and Renaissance churches.

The city has been rebuilt with many fine 18th-century buildings along with its 37 churches. A 'Roman' bridge links the two parts of the town across the River Gilao. The church of Santa Maria do Castelo holds the tombs of Dom Paio Peres Correia and his knights. The church dates from 13C and the clock tower has been remodeled from the original Muslim minaret. A bust of Dom Paio Perres Correia can be seen on the corner of the town hall. The beach for this town lies past the salt pans and is reached by a ferryboat that takes the visitor to the sand-bar island known as Ilha de Tavira. The island and beaches can also be reached from the nearby footbridge in Santa Luzia.
