Zell am See provides winter skiing on the Schmittenhohe Mountain. The ski pass covers the whole area including transport to and from the glacier which is open most of the year snow dependent. Even when the snow on the mountain isn't great, the snow on the glacier is fantastic most of the year round. Within St. Hippolyte's Church are the oldest building remnants of the Pinzgau region. The church is built in a Romanesque style. The tower is the main focus of the Zell am See skyline, reaches 36 metres, with limestone walls. The Grand Hotel Zell am See is situated in a unique position on a private peninsula at the shore of Lake Zell, surrounded by water with a panoramic view of the mountains.

The Castle of the Teutonic Order, it has a rococo chapel. The so-called Deutsches Haus, is the ancestral home of the counts of Drechsel-Deufstetten. It is a fine specimen of the German renaissance style of wooden architecture.

Rothenburg is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town. It is part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany. In 1170 the city of Rothenburg was founded at the time of the building of Staufer Castle. In October 1631, during the Thirty Years' War, the Count of Tilly, wanted to quarter his 40,000 troops in Rothenburg. Rather than allow entrance, the town defended itself. However, Tilly's troops quickly defeated Rothenburg. and in 1634 the Black Death killed many more townsfolk. Without any money or power, Rothenburg stopped growing, thus preserving its 17th-century state. sites include The Criminal Museum, Imperial City Museum and the Rathaus (town hall).

Cochem is a town in Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. With just under 5,000 inhabitants, Cochem falls just behind Kusel as Germany's second smallest district seat. The Reichsburg Cochem (Reichsburg castle) had its first documented mention in 1130. In 1151, it was occupied by King Konrad III, who declared it an Imperial castle. In 1688, the castle was overrun by French King Louis XIV's troops in the course of the Nine Years' War. The castle complex long lay in ruins until 1868 when it was reconstructed in the Gothic Revival style.

Bamberg is a town in Bavaria, Germany. Its historic city center is a listed UNESCO world heritage site, primarily because of its authentic medieval appearance. The Bamberg cathedral is a late Romanesque building with four grand towers. It was founded in 1004. It was later partially destroyed by fire in 1081. The new cathedral was consecrated in 1111 and in the 13th century received its present late-Romanesque form. Of its many historic works of art may be mentioned the magnificent marble tomb of the founder and his wife, carved between 1499 and 1513. Another treasure of the cathedral is an equestrian statue known as the Bamberg Horseman, This statue dates to approximately 1200.
