Dinkelsbuehl

Germany, The Romantic Road region

Historic1 nightThu. Jun 11 - Fri. Jun 12

Surrounded by its old fortifications, Dinkelsbuehl's medieval roots are still felt through its well-preserved buildings.

Dinkelsbühl is an historic city in Bavaria, Germany. Dinkelsbühl is still surrounded by the old medieval walls and towers. The image of this town is very typical for a German town of the 15th to early 17th century. St. George's Minster is a beautiful masterpiece of the gothic style in the late 15th century. St. Paul's, now a Protestant church, was rebuilt in the 19th century in the style of the far late Roman architectural style. It was originally part of a monastery. The Castle of the Teutonic Order, it has a rococo chapel. The so-called Deutsches Haus, is the ancestral home of the counts of Drechsel-Deufstetten. It is a fine specimen of the German renaissance style of wooden architecture.

Strasbourg harmoniously combines its governmental importance with the wonder generated by great museums and superb architecture.

Strasbourg is the capital city of the Alsace region in eastern France and is the official seat of the European Parliament. Strasbourg's historic city center, the Grande ֳŽle, was classified a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988, the first time such an honor was placed on an entire city center. The city is chiefly known for its sandstone Gothic Cathedral with its famous astronomical clock, and for its medieval cityscape of Rhineland black and white timber-framed buildings, particularly in the Petite France district or Gerberviertel ("tanners' district") alongside the Ill and in the streets and squares surrounding the cathedral, where the renowned Maison Kammerzell stands out.
