It has a large 15 C church, an impressive 16C City Hall, several large 17C palaces, a 17C Protestant church, and many important 18C buildings. The city is becoming more student friendly with several universities and academies. The Hague is the largest Dutch city on the North Sea and includes 2 beach resorts. There are only a few canals in The Hague, and the remaining ones are surrounded by parks and gardens.

Bielefeld is a city in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe Region in the north-east of North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany. Sparrenburg Castle is Bielefeld's characteristic landmark. The Old City Hall was built in 1904 and still serves the same function. Hamelin is the gateway to the surrounding Weserbergland mountains, which are popular with hikers and bikers. Hamelin started with a monastery, which was founded as early as 851 AD. A village grew in the neighbourhood and had become a town by the 12th century. The town is famous for the folk tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin , a medieval story that tells of a tragedy that befell the town in the thirteenth century.

Quedlinburg is a town in the district of Harz, Germany. In 1994 the medieval court and the old town were set on the UNESCO world heritage list. Some places in town with Romanesque architecture are part of the holiday route Romanesque Road, such as St. Servatius' church at the castles hill, St. Wigbert's church down the valley and St Marie's church on the Montsion's hill. In the innermost parts of the town, a wide selection of half-timbered buildings from at least five different centuries are to be found. The cathedral is a prime example of German Romanesque style. The Domschatz, the cathedral treasure containing ancient Christian religious artefacts and books, is on display here.

Coburg is a town located on the Itz River in Bavaria, Germany. Coburg has numerous houses from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The most important landmarks include: Ehrenburg, a former Franciscan convent built in 1220 and turned into a castle in 1543–1549, and renovated until the 19th century. St.-Moriz Church is a Gothic edifice on the Hallenkirche plan with two towers. The interior, remade in 1701, include the notable funerary moment of Duke John Casimir, a 12 m-tall alabaster sculpture. The medieval Veste Coburg, one of the biggest and most beautiful castles in Germany. It has a triple line of walls with numerous towers. Martin Luther resided here in 1530.

Rothenburg is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town. It is part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany. In 1170 the city of Rothenburg was founded at the time of the building of Staufer Castle. In October 1631, during the Thirty Years' War, the Count of Tilly, wanted to quarter his 40,000 troops in Rothenburg. Rather than allow entrance, the town defended itself. However, Tilly's troops quickly defeated Rothenburg. and in 1634 the Black Death killed many more townsfolk. Without any money or power, Rothenburg stopped growing, thus preserving its 17th-century state. sites include The Criminal Museum, Imperial City Museum and the Rathaus (town hall).

The Castle of the Teutonic Order, it has a rococo chapel. The so-called Deutsches Haus, is the ancestral home of the counts of Drechsel-Deufstetten. It is a fine specimen of the German renaissance style of wooden architecture.

Passau is a town in Lower Bavaria, Germany. It is also known as the "City of Three Rivers," because the Danube is joined at Passau by the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north. With 17,774 pipes and 233 registers, the organ at St. Stephen's was long held to be the largest church pipe organ in the world and is today second in size only to the organ at First Congregational Church, Los Angeles. Organ concerts are held daily between May and September. St.Stephen's is a true masterpiece of Italian Baroque. Many river cruises down the Danube start at Passau and there is a cycling path all the way down to Vienna. It is also notable for its gothic and baroque architecture.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a mountain resort town in Bavaria, southern Germany. Nearby is Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, at 2961 m (9714 ft.). South of Partenkirchen is the Partnach Gorge, where the Partnach river surges spectacularly through a narrow, mile-long gap between high limestone cliffs. The Zugspitze mountain is south of Garmisch. Also overlooking the city is Germany's fourth-highest mountain, the Leutasch Dreitorspitze ("Three-Gate Peak", a name derived from its triple summit).
