The capital of Portugal, Lisbon is a lively city filled with restaurants, shops, buzzing nightlife, and historical sites.

Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries. Julius Caesar made it a municipium called Felicitas Julia, adding to the name Olissipo. Ruled by a series of Germanic tribes from the 5th century, it was captured by the Moors in the 8th century. In 1147, the Crusaders reconquered the city and since then it has been a major political, economic and cultural centre of Portugal. Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Among all the metropolises in Europe, it has the warmest winters.

Famous for its wine, Portugal's second largest city boasts a lovely waterfront and several historical sites and monuments.

Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal, after Lisbon, and one of the major urban areas in Southern Europe. Porto is one of the oldest European centres, and registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its settlement dates back many centuries, when it was an outpost of the Roman Empire. Its Latin name, Portus Cale has been referred to as the origin for the name "Portugal", based on transliteration and oral evolution from Latin. One of Portugal's internationally famous exports, port wine, is named for Porto, since the metropolitan area, and in particular the adegas of Vila Nova de Gaia, were responsible for the production and export of the fortified wine.

Located on a peninsula in the Atlantic, Cadiz was the first city established in Europe, around the 1C BC by Phoenicians.

Cadiz is a city and port in southwestern Spain. It is the oldest continuously-inhabited city in Spain and one of the oldest in southwestern Europe. The older part of Cadiz within the remnants of the city walls is commonly referred to as the Old Town (Spanish: Casco Antiguo). It is characterized by the antiquity of its various quarters (barrios), among them El Populo, La Vina, and Santa María, which present a marked contrast to the newer areas of town. In addition, the city is dotted with numerous parks where exotic plants flourish, including giant trees supposedly brought to Spain by Columbus from the New World.

Madrid is where ancient and old meet modern and cosmopolitan, where sightseeing, dancing, and shopping go hand in hand.

Madrid is the capital of Spain and its largest city. As the capital city of Spain, seat of government, and residence of the Spanish monarch, Madrid is also the political, economic and cultural center of Spain. While Madrid possesses a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighborhoods and streets. Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Royal Theater with its restored 1850 Opera House; the Buen Retiro park, founded in 1631; the 19th-century National Library building containing some of Spain's historical archives; a large number of National museums, and the Golden Triangle of Art, located along the Paseo del Prado.
