Beaches are: North Shore, Town Beach, Oxley Beach, Rocky Beach, Flynns Beach, Nobbys Beach, Shelly Beach, Miners Beach and Lighthouse Beach. Only Town, Flynns and Lighthouse Beaches are manned by Surf Life Saving Clubs. Lighthouse Beach is patrolled at only the northern end.

The Airlie Beach Lagoon is 4,300 m2 and 4.5 million liters of fresh, self chlorinated water. The Great Barrier Reef is easily accessible from Airlie Beach, with an array of different types of tours available.
