Andermatt is a municipality in the canton of Uri in Switzerland, located in a high Alpine Ursern Valle in the Adula Alps. Andermatt has two mountains around it which are used for ski slopes in the winter: Nätschen, which is on the north-east side of Andermatt and Gemsstock, which is on the southern side of Andermatt. Andermatt's ski slopes are part of the Gotthard Oberalp Arena. There is a cable car running from Andermatt to the middle of Gemsstock, and a 2-man chairlift running from Andermatt up to the middle of Nätschen. There are plans to build a new gondola going up each mountain.

The old 14C Benedictine abbey, Opatija Sv. Jakova, from which the town derives its name is located in St. James's Park. St. James's church, built in 1506 now stands on the same spot. The neo-Romanesque Church of the Annunciation with its pronounced green cupola, was designed in 1906 by architect Karl Seidl. Another sight is the Villa Angiolina, built in 1844 by Iginio Scarpa. This villa, transformed into a museum. Opatija is known for the Maiden with the seagull, a statue by Zvonko Car (1956). The town park Angiolina contains many species of plants from all over the world. There is a 12 km-long promenade along the entire riviera, the Lungomare from Volosko, via Opatija, to Lovran.

On a still day the stones on the sea-floor that are 30 feet down look only an arm's length away, and there are spectacular pine trees that grow down the middle of Zlatni Rat. Bol itself is a very popular tourist destination and has a number of harbourside bars and restaurants. Bol is a popular place in the Adriatic Sea, known for good wind surfing conditions.
