Half of this city is UNESCO listed, it also offers great dining and nightlife options for the millions who visit annually.

Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France. The city's titles are "La Perle d'Aquitaine" (The Pearl of Aquitaine), and "La Belle Endormie" (Sleeping Beauty) in reference to the old center which had black walls due to pollution. Nowadays, this is not the case. In fact, a part of the city, Le Port de La Lune, was almost completely renovated. Bordeaux is the city which has the highest number of preserved historical buildings in France, except for Paris. Bordeaux is the world's major wine industry capital. Bordeaux wine has been produced in the region since the 8th century. Carvoeiro

Portugal, Algarve region

BeachesSmall townsFoodActive0 nightsWed. Sep 18

Formerly a fishing village, Carvoeiro is increasingly popular due to its many beautiful beaches, protected by impressive cliffs.

Carvoeiro, or more commonly Praia de Carvoeiro, is a town and a former civil parish in the municipality of Lagoa, Algarve, Portugal. Formed from a picturesque fishing village, with a long history of settlement, the parish slowly developed into a tourist area in the municipality of Lagoa, owing to its number of sand beaches protected by cliffs. Algar Seco, a few hundred meters along the coast east of the main square and beach, is a popular nature site where ocean wave erosion has carved out grottoes, islets and water-spouts. To the west of the town is the site of an old ruined fort. At the same site is the Shrine of Our Lady of the Incarnation, a chapel overlooking the sea.
