Bursa is a large city in Turkey, located in northwestern Anatolia, within the Marmara Region. Bursa has rather orderly urban growth and borders a fertile plain. The "wooden horse" from the 2004 movie Troy is exhibited on the seafront. Canakkale is the second city to be situated on two continents after Istanbul. Oia is a small town on the islands of Santorini. It is built on the steep slope of the caldera and the houses and restaurants are built into niches carved into the caldebra on the seaward side. The idyllic surroundings of the town have a complex of white washed blue domed churches and charming, traditional Cycladic houses and cave houses that are carved into the rock face on top of the cliff. It is set in a location which provides excellent views of the sunset over the caldera. To the southwest is the Bay of Armeni, reachable from the town on foot or by mule. Excursion boats for trips around the island and ferries to Therasia leave from here.

Zadar gained its urban structure in Roman times; during the time of Julius Caesar and Emperor Augustus, the town was fortified and the city walls with towers and gates were built. On the western side of the town were the forum, the basilica and the temple, while outside the town were the amphitheatre and cemeteries. The aqueduct which supplied the town with water is partially preserved. Inside the ancient town, a medieval town had developed with a series of churches and monasteries being built.
