Considered the birthplace of Western Civilization, Athens' 3,500 year history is alive today in politics, culture, and philosophy.

Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece, and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning around 3,400 years and the earliest human presence around 11th–7th millennium BC,. The National Garden of Athens was completed in 1840 and is a green refuge in the centre of the Greek capital. Athens' largest zoo is the Attica Zoological Park, a private zoo located in the suburb of Spata. The zoo is home to around 2000 animals representing 400 species, and is open 365 days a year. A lovely modern Greek town that visitors come to for its proximity to the beautiful Meteora park.

Kalabaka is a municipality in the Trikala regional unit, part of Thessaly in Greece. The town is situated on the foot of the Meteora peaks, and is known for the Meteora monasteries are located in the town. The town was built on the location of the ancient city of Aiginion and of its medieval monuments, only the cathedral, the Church of the Dormition, survives. Relics of an ancient Greek temple – probably of god Apollo – have been incorporated in the wall of the town’s oldest and most renowned church, dedicated to Virgin Mary.

Oia (Santorini)

Greece, Santorini region

Small townsNature3 nightsFri. Oct 23 - Mon. Oct 26

Oia stunningly sits along the side of a caldera on the island of Santorini. Many consider its beauty unsurpassed.

Oia is a small town on the islands of Santorini. It is built on the steep slope of the caldera and the houses and restaurants are built into niches carved into the caldebra on the seaward side. The idyllic surroundings of the town have a complex of white washed blue domed churches and charming, traditional Cycladic houses and cave houses that are carved into the rock face on top of the cliff. It is set in a location which provides excellent views of the sunset over the caldera. To the southwest is the Bay of Armeni, reachable from the town on foot or by mule. Excursion boats for trips around the island and ferries to Therasia leave from here.
