Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries. Julius Caesar made it a municipium called Felicitas Julia, adding to the name Olissipo. Ruled by a series of Germanic tribes from the 5th century, it was captured by the Moors in the 8th century. In 1147, the Crusaders reconquered the city and since then it has been a major political, economic and cultural centre of Portugal. Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Among all the metropolises in Europe, it has the warmest winters.

Faro is located next to the Ria Formosa lagoon, a nature reserve of over 170 square kilometres (66 sq mi) and a stopping place for hundreds of different species of birds during the spring and autumn migratory periods. The beach is roughly seven kilometres (4.3 miles) from the city, and consists of a long sandy spit reached through a bridge The city has a public university, an international airport, a seaport, a marina, a railway station and complete inter-regional bus services. Its 30,000-seater stadium was one of the venues of the Euro 2004 and is also the temporary home ground of the Gibraltar national football team. The stadium is also used for concerts, festivals and other events.

Seville is a Spanish city, it is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is situated on the plain of the River Guadalquivir. Its Old Town, the third largest in Europe, contains three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Alcazar palace complex, the Cathedral and the General Archive of the Indies. The St. Mary of the See Cathedral was built from 1401–1519 after the Reconquista on the former site of the city's mosque. It is among the largest of all medieval and Gothic cathedrals, in terms of both area and volume. The Alcazar facing the cathedral was developed from a previous Moorish Palace. Construction was started in 1181 and continued for over 500 years.

Caceres is the capital of Caceres province, in the autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. The Old Town still has its ancient walls; this part of town is also well known for its multitude of storks' nests. The walls contain a medieval town setting with no outward signs of modernity. Caceres was declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO in 1986 because of the city's blend of Roman, Moorish, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. Thirty towers from the Islamic period still stand in Caceres, of which the Torre del Bujaco is the most famous.
