Founded in the 1C BC, Leon is an elegant city of masterful architecture, generous parks, and friendly residents.

Leon is a city located in the northwest of Spain. Leon's historical and architectural heritage, as well as the numerous festivals hosted throughout the year and its location on the Camino de Santiago, which is ranked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, make it a destination of both domestic and international tourism. Some of the city's most prominent historical buildings are the Cathedral, the finest example of French-style classic Gothic architecture in Spain, the Basilica of San Isidoro, one of the most important Romanesque churches in Spain, the Monastery of San Marcos, a prime example of plateresque and Renaissance Spanish architecture, and the Casa Botines, a Modernist creation of the architect Antoni Gaudí.

Famous for its wine, Portugal's second largest city boasts a lovely waterfront and several historical sites and monuments.

Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal, after Lisbon, and one of the major urban areas in Southern Europe. Porto is one of the oldest European centres, and registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its settlement dates back many centuries, when it was an outpost of the Roman Empire. Its Latin name, Portus Cale has been referred to as the origin for the name "Portugal", based on transliteration and oral evolution from Latin. One of Portugal's internationally famous exports, port wine, is named for Porto, since the metropolitan area, and in particular the adegas of Vila Nova de Gaia, were responsible for the production and export of the fortified wine.

A picturesque city set on a hill, which offers a wide range of restaurants, cafes, pastry shops, monuments and nightclubs.

Among the many archaeological structures date back to the Roman era are its well-preserved aqueduct and cryptoporticus. Similarly, buildings from 1131 to 1255 still remain. During the Late Middle Ages, Coimbra began to evolve into a major cultural centre, helped by the university established there in 1537. The university, one of the oldest in Europe, is frequented by tourists for its monuments and history. The historical University buildings were classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 2013: "Coimbra offers an outstanding example of an integrated university city with a specific urban typology as well as its own ceremonial and cultural traditions that have been kept alive through the ages."

The capital of Portugal, Lisbon is a lively city filled with restaurants, shops, buzzing nightlife, and historical sites.

Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries. Julius Caesar made it a municipium called Felicitas Julia, adding to the name Olissipo. Ruled by a series of Germanic tribes from the 5th century, it was captured by the Moors in the 8th century. In 1147, the Crusaders reconquered the city and since then it has been a major political, economic and cultural centre of Portugal. Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Among all the metropolises in Europe, it has the warmest winters.
