A lovely coastal city with good food and a medieval old center.

Trapani is a city and commune on the west coast of Sicily in Italy. Founded by Elymians, the city is an important fishing port and the main gateway to the nearby Egadi Islands. Much of the old city of Trapani dates from the later medieval or early modern periods; there are no extant remains of the ancient city. Many of the city's historic buildings are designed in the Baroque style. Notable monuments include the Church of Sant'Agostino (14th century), the magnificent Basilica-Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Annunziata (also called "Madonna di Trapani") originally built in 1315–1332 and rebuilt in 1760. and Castello di Terra, a ruined 12th-century castle.

This city overlooks the sea, serving as a good base to explore the famous Greek ruins in the Valley of the Temples.

Agrigento, is a city on the southern coast of Sicily. It is renowned as the site of the ancient Greek city of Akragas one of the leading cities of Magna Graecia during the golden age of Ancient Greece. Ancient Akragas covers a huge area, much of which is still unexcavated today, but is exemplified by the famous Valle dei Templi ("Valley of the Temples"). This comprises a large area on the south side of the ancient city where seven monumental Greek temples in the Doric style were constructed during the 6th and 5th centuries BC. They constitute some of the largest and best-preserved ancient Greek buildings outside of Greece itself. They are listed as a World Heritage Site.
