Destroyed during WWII, Hamburg has retained its charm with its water landscapes, pristine parks, and upbeat spirit.

The second largest city in Germany and the eighth largest city in the European Union. A former member of the medieval Hanseatic League, as a free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire.Today, Hamburg is a major transport hub and is one of the most affluent cities in Europe. Hamburg has architecturally significant buildings in a wide range of styles and only a few skyscrapers. Churches are important landmarks, such as St Nicholas', which for a short time in the 19th century was the world's tallest building. There are many parks distributed over the whole city, which makes Hamburg a very verdant city. The biggest parks are the Stadtpark, the Ohlsdorf Cemetery and Planten un Blomen.

The historic inland port city of Bremen has great architecture and museums, as well as a friendly and fun atmosphere.

Bremen is a Hanseatic city in northwestern Germany. A commercial and industrial city with a major port on the River Weser. Many of the sights in Bremen are found in the Altstadt (Old Town). The oldest part of the Altstadt is the southeast half. The Market square is dominated by the opulent façade of the Town Hall of Bremen. The building was erected between 1405 and 1410 in Gothic style, but the façade was built two centuries later (1609–12) in Renaissance style. In July 2004, along with the Bremen Roland, the building was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Netherlands' second largest city boasts a wealth of cultural venues and events, wonderful museums, great nightlife, and amazing energy.

Rotterdam is the second-largest city in the Netherlands and one of the largest ports in the world. Rotterdam is currently going through a sort of renaissance, with some urban architecture projects, a nightlife, and many summer festivals celebrating the city's multicultural population and identity, such as the Caribbean-inspired "Summer Carnival", the Dance Parade, Rotterdam 666, the Metropolis pop festival and the World Port days. The self-image of the city is that of a no-nonsense workers' city. In that sense, there is a healthy competition with Amsterdam, which is often viewed as the cultural capital of the Netherlands.
