One of the largest towns in Scotland's Highlands, this busy town boasts museums, warm locals, and access to stunning nature.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants — and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger. Fort William is a major tourist center, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mor to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. It is a center for hillwalking and climbing due to its proximity to Ben Nevis and many other Munro mountains. It is also known for its nearby downhill mountain bike track. It is the start/end of both the West Highland Way (Milngavie-Fort William) and the Great Glen Way (a walk/cycle way Fort William-Inverness). Around 726 people (7.33% of the population) can speak Gaelic.

Perth

3 nightsTue. Jun 29 - Fri. Jul 02

Perth's history includes Mesolithic settlers, royal Scots, and clever entrepreneurs, yet it still enjoys an idyllic atmosphere.

Perth is a city in central Scotland, located on the banks of the River Tay. There has been a settlement at Perth since prehistoric times, on a natural mound raised slightly above the flood plain of the Tay, where the river could be crossed at low tide. The area surrounding the modern city is known to have been occupied since Mesolithic hunter-gatherers arrived more than 8000 years ago. Nearby Neolithic standing stones and circles also exist, dating from about 4000 BC, following the introduction of farming in the area. The presence of Scone Abbey, home of the Stone of Destiny where the King of Scots was crowned, enhanced the early importance of the city.
