The main town on the island of the same name, Corfu is a bustling town, home to amazing old architecture including the Old Fort.

Corfu, also known as Kérkyra, is the main city on the island of Corfu, Greece. In 2007, the old town of the city was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The old city having grown up within fortifications, is a labyrinth of narrow streets paved with cobblestones called "kantounia". There is a promenade by the seashore towards the bay of Garitsa, and also an esplanade between the town and the citadel where upscale restaurants and European style bistros abound. The city of Corfu has a long tradition in the fine arts. The Philharmonic Society of Corfu is part of that tradition. The Museum of the Philharmonic Society of Corfu presents in detail the musical heritage of the island.

The city is a world centre of archaeological research. Apart from national institutions there are several archaeological Museums, including the National Archaeological Museum.

It has become proliferated with parks and gardens located across its urban fabric, as well as to the vast and richly varied forests of the surrounding region. Bursa has rather orderly urban growth and borders a fertile plain. The mausoleums of the early Ottoman sultans are located in Bursa and the city's main landmarks include numerous edifices built throughout the Ottoman period. Bursa also has thermal baths and several museums, including a museum of archaeology.
