The town is principally a base from which to explore the surrounding areas. Among the main attractions are the mountains of the Jungfrau region. Chambery is a city located in the Rhone-Alpes region in southeastern France. Main sights in Chambery include : Château de Chambéry, the first counts of Savoy settled into an existing fortress in 1285 and expanded it in the early-14th century to serve as a residence, seat of power and administration. Today, the political administration of the department of Savoie is located in the castle, and it is open for tours and concerts. The Fontaine des Elephants ("Elephants Fountain") is the most famous landmark in Chambery. It was built in 1838. The monumental fountain has strikingly realistic sculptures of the head and forelimbs of four life size elephants truncated into the base of a tall column in the shape of the savoyan (savoyarde) cross, topped by a statue of de Boigne.

This peaceful town is excellent for strolling, eating, and exploring the nearby parks of Vanoise, Chartreuse, and Bauges.

Dijon is a city in eastern France, and is the capital of the Burgundy region. The city has retained varied architectural styles from many of the main periods of the past millennium, including Capetian, Gothic and Renaissance. Many still-inhabited town houses in the city's central district date from the 18th century and earlier. Dijon architecture is distinguished by, among other things, toits bourguignons (Burgundian polychrome roofs) made of tiles glazed in terracotta, green, yellow and black and arranged in geometric patterns. The historical center of the city has been registered since July 4, 2015 as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Between Paris and Lyon, Dijon is the perfect place to sample Burgundian cuisine and admire Medieval architecture.

Ludlow is a market town in Shropshire, England. The oldest part is the medieval walled town, founded in the late 11th century, centred on a small hill which lies within a bend of the River Teme, on its eastern bank. Atop this hill is the site of Ludlow Castle and the parish church, St Laurence's, the largest in the county. The town is in a sheltered spot beneath Mortimer Forest and the Clee Hills, which are clearly visible from the town. Ludlow has nearly 500 listed buildings. They include some fine examples of medieval and Tudor-style half-timbered buildings including the Feathers Hotel. The town was described by Sir John Betjeman as "probably the loveliest town in England".

Ludlow boasts an inordinate number of medieval buildings given its size, and its culture and natural beauty are equally lauded.
