Krakow is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland, dating back to the 7th century. It has traditionally been one of the leading centers of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life. Major landmarks of the city include the Main Market Square with St. Mary's Basilica and the Sukiennice Cloth Hall, the Wawel Castle and Cathedral, the National Art Museum, and the medieval St Florian's Gate with the Barbican along the Royal Coronation Route. Krakow has 28 museums and public art galleries. Among them are the main branch of Poland's National Museum and the Czartoryski Museum, the latter featuring works by Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt.

A metropolis of cultural significance, Krakow preserves a multitude of historic and religious remnants dating all the way to the 7C.

Rzeszow is the biggest city in southeastern Poland, located on both sides of the Wislok in the heartland of the Sandomierska Valley. The city, which was granted a town charter in 1354, has been the capital of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship since 1999, and is also the seat of Rzeszow County. Its attractions include Rzeszow Castle, the Main Square, Rzeszow Town Hall, Small (17th century) and Big (18th century, restored 1954–63) Synagogue, Lancut Castle, and the underground tunnels.

Poland's largest southeastern city, Rzeszow serves as a cultural hub that features castles, museums, and a well-preserved Old Town.

Bardejov is a town in North-Eastern Slovakia. It is situated in the Saris region on a floodplain terrace of the Topla River, in the hills of the Beskyd Mountains. Trencin is a city in western Slovakia of the central Vah River valley near the Czech border, around 120 km from Bratislava. It has a population of more than 56,000, which makes it the ninth largest municipality of the country and is the seat of the Trencin Region and the Trencin District. The city is dominated by Trencin Castle, which is the third-largest castle in Slovakia. Trencin Castle is divided into upper and lower sections, with extensive fortifications. The old town has a large main square, with a large baroque church and a variety of shops, as well as a town tower.

Banska Stiavnica is a town in central Slovakia, in the middle of an immense caldera created by the collapse of an ancient volcano. For its size, the caldera is known as Stiavnica Mountains. Banska Stiavnica has a population of more than 10,000. It is a completely preserved medieval town. Because of their historical value, the town and its surroundings were proclaimed by the UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site on December 11, 1993. Ptuj is a town in northeastern Slovenia and is the oldest city in Slovenia with evidence that the area was settled in the Stone Age. Zadar gained its urban structure in Roman times; during the time of Julius Caesar and Emperor Augustus, the town was fortified and the city walls with towers and gates were built. On the western side of the town were the forum, the basilica and the temple, while outside the town were the amphitheatre and cemeteries. The aqueduct which supplied the town with water is partially preserved. Inside the ancient town, a medieval town had developed with a series of churches and monasteries being built.

Rich with fascinating history, architectural diversity, great beaches, and a superb atmosphere, this city is a must for any traveler.
