Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece, and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning around 3,400 years and the earliest human presence around 11th–7th millennium BC,. The National Garden of Athens was completed in 1840 and is a green refuge in the centre of the Greek capital. Athens' largest zoo is the Attica Zoological Park, a private zoo located in the suburb of Spata. The zoo is home to around 2000 animals representing 400 species, and is open 365 days a year. The city is a world centre of archaeological research. Apart from national institutions there are several archaeological Museums, including the National Archaeological Museum.

Sparta, (officially Sparti) is a city in Laconia, Greece. It lies at the site of ancient Sparta. In the center of the city there is the Archaeological Museum and in the North West end is the Tomb of Leonidas, also known as Leonidaion and there is a tavern in front of the temple named Leonidas. North of the modern city start the ruins of the ancient Sparta. Every September since 1983 the Spartathlon takes place here. It is an ultramarathon starting in Athens and finishing in Sparta, with many international participants.

Pylos, historically also known under its Italian name Navarino, is a town in Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece. The Gialova wetland is a regional blessing of nature. It is one of 10 major lagoons in Greece and has been classified as one of the important bird areas in Europe. The observation post of the Greek Ornithological Society allows visitors to find out more and to watch the shallow brackish waters of the lake, they can walk the paths that circumscribe Gialova's different ecosystems.

Kalabaka is a municipality in the Trikala regional unit, part of Thessaly in Greece. The town is situated on the foot of the Meteora peaks, and is known for the Meteora monasteries are located in the town. Chania is the second largest city of Crete and the capital of the Chania regional unit. It lies along the north coast of the island. Chania is the site of the Minoan settlement the Greeks called Kydonia. Some notable archaeological evidence for the existence of this Minoan city below some parts of today's Chania was found by excavations in the district of Kasteli in the Old Town. The city of Chania can be divided in two parts: the old town and the modern city which is the larger one. The old town is situated next to the old harbour and is the matrix around which the whole urban area was developed. Currently, there are several museums, art galleries, theatre and music groups, within the city.
