Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary after Budapest. It was the largest Hungarian city in the 18th century and it is one of the most important cultural centers of the Hungarians, as well as being a flourishing intellectual center of the surrounding area since the 16th century. Over the history, Debrecen has attracted literary figures, theater performers, singers and musicians of all styles and ages. It's most notable attractions include the Protestant Great Church, the City Park and spa, Deri Museum, and an annual Flower Carnival of Debrecen.
