Sandakan

Destroyed during WWII, this city has been rebuilt and now attracts visitors interested in exploring the wealth of nearby nature.

Sandakan, formerly known at various times as Elopura, is the second-largest town in Sabah after Kota Kinabalu City, on the north-eastern coast of Borneo in Malaysia. Several cultural venues are located in Sandakan. The Sandakan Heritage Museum is the main museum of Sandakan.
