Gol

A small Norwegian town, known for its stave church as well as the nearby outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, and skiing.

Gol is a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Hallingdal. Gol Bygdetun, an open-air museum built around the old Skaga farm, is located in the village of Gol. It is dedicated to the cultural history of Gol, and contains farm buildings of nearly all types. The oldest building dates back to 17th century. A local landmark is the replica of The Gol stave church, built after the relocation of the original by King Oscar II.
