A small town set on the banks of Tista River, its cobbled streets are filled with cozy restaurants, shops, and historic sites.
Halden is a town in Østfold county, Norway. The town is surrounded by forests and water bodies and there are many hiking destinations. Popular destinations for hikers and other nature lovers include Prestebakke and Kornsjø.
Halden hosts several festivals including a food and wooden boat festival in july, the Bom-Kræsj-Bang cultural festival during April and the Down on the Farm country/roots festival.
Other sights in town include The fortress of Fredriksten which houses several museums and Rød Herregård - one of the best preserved manor houses in Norway.
