Established in the 10C, Sweden's oldest town and first capital is a wonderfully picturesque spot retaining much of its historic charm.
Sigtuna is a locality situated in Stockholm County, Sweden.
Although less significant today, Sigtuna has an important place in Sweden's early history. It is one of the oldest towns in Sweden, having been founded in 980. Sigtuna has a picturesque medieval town centre with restaurants, cafes and small shops. The old church ruins, runic stones and Stora gatan and the old main street, are popular attractions for tourists especially in the summertime.
There are several restaurants and a hotel in the town centre.
