    Fribourg is a day trip destination for tourists who want to visit the sights of the city, including its medieval center, which is now one of the largest in Europe. The fortifications of Fribourg form the most important medieval military architecture of Switzerland. Fribourg is also home to several museums, including the Natural History Museum, The Museum of Arts and History, the Swiss Museum of Marionettes, the Swiss Sewing Machine Museum, the Gutenberg Museum, the Bible and Orient Museum, and a Beer Museum. Cultural experiences include the festival of religious music, the international folklore convention, the jazz parade, an international film festival and Cineplus.

  • Bulle City

    Bulle is a municipality in the district of Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. Downtown Bulle is made up of many shops and offices, a train/bus station (TPF) (with regular service to nearby Fribourg), and an old chateau that was converted into a prison. A sculpture of a bull sits in a traffic circle by the bus station, showing the emblematic animal for which Bulle is named. Much of the land of Bulle is used for agricultural purposes or forested. The remaining land is made up of buildings and roads or fields, rivers, lakes, and streams.

  • Estavayer-le-Lac, Suisse

    Estavayer-le-Lac is a municipality of the canton of Fribourg, situated on the south shore of Lake Neuchâtel. Estavayer-le-Lac is the capital of the district of Broye. The De Rivaz Chapel, the Sacré-Coeur Chapel, the Chenaux Castle, the Collegiate church of Saint-Laurent, the Convent of the Dominican nuns, the town fortifications, the House de la Dîme and the House des Sires d’Estavayer listed as Swiss heritage site of national significance. The entire town of Estavayer-le-Lac is part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites. From the 2012 merger of Font into Estavayer-le-Lac, the Gallo-Roman villa at La Vuardaz and the entire Font area (shared between Châbles and Font) were added.

  • Gruyères

    A major tourist attraction is the medieval town of Gruyeres with its castle, containing a regional museum and an arts museum. There are cultural activities in the castle (concerts, theater). There is a cheese factory in Pringy which is open to visitors. Nearby is Mont Moleson, a mountain suitable for climbing, or for the less athletic there is a cablecar to the summit. The resort town Moleson-Village caters for both summer and winter tourism. The Chateau St. Germain houses the H. R. Giger Museum, a permanent repository of his work and is a popular tourist destination. The castle was constructed between 1270 and 1282 in the typical square plan of the fortifications in Savoy.

  • Murten-004

    Murten is the capital of the See/Lac District of the canton of Fribourg. The small medieval town lies in the Swiss "Midlands" on the edge of the Great Marsh, on a gentle hill and on the shore of Lake Morat. Numerous attractions from a significant past have been well preserved here, such as the castle, the ring wall, the street scene and the arcades. Mount Vully stands on the western side of the Seeland's largest plain and resembles a pearl among the three lakes of Morat, Neuchâtel and Biel/Bienne. Today, the Vully vineyards take up a large part of the south face of Mount Vully. The former fortified city has kept most of its ramparts and towers.

  • Romont

    Romont is a municipality and capital of the district of Glâne in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. The Cistercian Abbey De La Fille-Dieu, Romont Castle, the Museum suisse du vitrail et Centre (Swiss museum of stained glass), the collegiate church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption and the town's fortifications are listed as Swiss heritage site of national significance. The entire village of Romont is part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites. Romont is twinned with the town of Mondolfo, Italy.
