  • Vitebsk Assumption Cathedral

    Vitebsk, or Vitsebsk, is a city in Belarus. The capital of the Vitebsk Region, being the country's fourth largest city. It is served by Vitebsk Vostochny Airport and Vitebsk air base. Vitebsk developed from a river harbor where the Vitba River (Віцьба, from which it derives its name) flows into the larger Western Dvina, which is spanned in the city by the Kirov Bridge. Archaeological research indicates that at the mouth of Vitba there were settlements by Baltic tribes, which were replaced in the 9th century by Slavic tribes Krivichs.   • Braslaw region

    Braslaw or Braslau is a town in the Vitsebsk Voblast of Belarus, an administrative center of the Braslaw Raion. The town was first mentioned in 1065 as a castle in the border of the Polatsk Principality with the Lithuanian tribes. Archaeologists excavated a Viking settlement in the village of Maskachichy not far from the town. They think that Viking mercenaries were used as dependable border guards. When you're in the area make sure to visit the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.

    Pastavy is a city in the Vitebsk Region of Belarus, an administrative center of Pastavy Raion. Pastavy is located on the river Myadelki. Pastavy has several historic buildings including 18C houses and 19C church. In 2009, Pastavy celebrated its 600th anniversary.
