Greece Epirus

Metsovo is a town in Epirus on the mountains of Pindus in northern Greece. It is the largest centre of Vlach life in Greece. The town is famous for its local cheeses and winemaking industries. Metsovo is also a popular winter vacation destination and a ski resort.

Ioannina (often called Yannena within Greece) is the capital and largest city of Epirus, a region in north-western Greece. Arta is a city in northwestern Greece, capital of the regional unit of Arta, which is part of Epirus region. The city was known in ancient times as Ambracia. Arta is known for the medieval bridge over the Arachthos River, its ancient sites from the era of Pyrrhus of Epirus and its well-preserved 13th-century castle. The modern city is on the site of ancient Ambracia and Remains of the classic era include the ancient walls, the ruins of the ancient temple of Apollo, a small theatre, and remnants of the southwest cemetery. The most important Byzantine church is the cathedral Church of the Paregoretissa, built ca. 1290 by Nikephoros I Komnenos Doukas.
