The observation post of the Greek Ornithological Society allows visitors to find out more and to watch the shallow brackish waters of the lake, they can walk the paths that circumscribe Gialova's different ecosystems.

    Corinth is a city and former municipality in Corinthia, Peloponnese, Greece, and is the capital of Corinthia. Corinth derives its name from Ancient Corinth, a city-state of antiquity. In 1858, the old city, now known as Archaia Korinthos was totally destroyed by an earthquake. New Corinth was then built on the coast of the Gulf of Corinth. The Corinth Canal, carrying ship traffic between the western Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea, is about 4 kilometres east of the city. Natural features around the city include the narrow coastal plain of Vocha, the Corinthian Gulf, the Saronic Gulf, the Oneia Mountains, and the monolithic rock of Acrocorinth, where the medieval acropolis was built.

    Sparta, (officially Sparti) is a city in Laconia, Greece. It lies at the site of ancient Sparta. In the center of the city there is the Archaeological Museum and in the North West end is the Tomb of Leonidas, also known as Leonidaion and there is a tavern in front of the temple named Leonidas. North of the modern city start the ruins of the ancient Sparta. Every September since 1983 the Spartathlon takes place here. It is an ultramarathon starting in Athens and finishing in Sparta, with many international participants.
