Mantua is a city and commune in Lombardy, Italy, and capital of the province of the same name. In 2007, Mantua's centro storico (old town) and Sabbioneta were declared by UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site. Riva del Garda is a town and commune in the northern Italian Trentino Alto Adige region. It is also known simply as Riva. The estimated population is 15,151. The Museo Civico is located in the Rocca, a medieval fortress with quadrangular bastions, placed on the lake, bounded by a canal with drawbridge. It was the fortress of the noble family Scaligeri (1124), who became the Lords of Verona. It was rebuilt several times and it was used by the Austrians as barracks in the 18th century. It is frequently the seat of cultural activities, especially during the summer months.

Sirmione is a commune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, northern Italy. It has a historic center which is located on the Sirmio peninsula that divides the lower part of Lake Garda. The main historical landmark of Sirmione is the so-called Grottoes of Catullus (Grotte di Catullo), the most striking example of a Roman private edifice discovered in northern Italy. The edifice had a rectangular plan and measured 167 x 105 meters. The town is famous for its thermal springs.

Bellagio is a commune in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located on Lake Como. It has long been famous for its setting at the intersection of the three branches of the Y-shaped lake, which is also known as Lario. Bellagio is situated at the tip of the peninsula separating the lake's two southern arms, with the Alps visible across the lake to the north.

Como is a city and commune in Lombardy, Italy. Its proximity to Lake Como and to the Alps has made Como a popular tourist destination and the city contains numerous works of art, churches, gardens, museums, theaters, parks and palaces: the Duomo (seat of Diocese of Como), the Basilica of Sant'Abbondio, the Villa Olmo, the public gardens with the Tempio Voltiano, the Teatro Sociale, the Broletto (the city's medieval town hall) and the 20th century Casa del Fascio.

Bergamo is a city and commune in Lombardy, Italy. The commune is home to over 120,000 inhabitants. The foothills of the Alps begin immediately north of the town. The town has two centers: "Citta alta" (upper city), a hilltop medieval town, surrounded by 16th-century cyclonic defensive walls, and the "Citta bassa" (lower city).

Varenna is a commune on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometers north of Milan and about 20 kilometres northwest of Lecco. The main sights are the Castello di Vezio, a small museum dedicated to the Lariosaurus and a sea reptile from the Middle Triassic period as well as the beautiful gardens at Villa Monastero.

Livigno is a town and commune in the province of Sondrio, in the region of Lombardy, Italy, located in the Italian Alps, near the Swiss border. Livigno is 1,816 metres (5,958 ft) above sea level. Livigno's main river is called Aqua Granda or Spöl. Trepalle, a frazione in the municipality of Livigno, is considered Europe's highest inhabited parish. Livigno was once a traditional and cultural village. Livigno is two of the few Italian villages which do not belong to the drainage basin of the Mediterranean Sea but to the Black Sea basin. A part of the old village was completely destroyed in the 1960s by the creation of a reservoir, the Lago di Livigno.

Cremona is a city and commune in northern Italy, situated in Lombardy, on the left bank of the Po River in the middle of the Pianura Padana (Po valley). The city of Cremona is especially noted for its musical history and traditions, including some of the earliest and most renowned luthiers, such as Guarneri and Stradivari and several members of the Amati family. The Cathedral of Cremona with the annexed Baptistery constitutes one of the most notable sites for Romanesque-Gothic art in northern Italy.

Brescia is a city and commune in the region of Lombardy in northern Italy. It is situated at the foot of the Alps. Brescia is known as the Lioness of Italy (Leonessa d'Italia) after ten days of popular uprising against Austrian rule during the Spring of 1849. Brescia's old town contains the best-preserved Roman public buildings in northern Italy and numerous monuments, among these the medieval castle, the Old and New cathedral, the Renaissance Piazza della Loggia and more. The monumental archaeological area of the Roman forum and the monastic complex of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia have become a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of a group of seven inscribed as Longobards in Italy, Places of Power.

Stresa is a town and commune of about 5,000 inhabitants on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the region of Piedmont, northern Italy. Since the early 20th century, the main source of income has been tourism. Like other locations on Lago Maggiore, it benefits from spectacular views as well as areas of historical and architectural interest. Stresa is also the venue for the "Settimane Musicali"; one of Europe's important classical music international festivals which is held annually in the summer.
