Abano Terme is a town and comune in the province of Padua, in the Veneto region, Italy, on the eastern slope of the Colli Euganei. The town's hot springs and mud baths are the main economic resource. The waters have a temperature of some 80C (176F) Abano Cathedral, or the cathedral of St. Lawrence's current edifice was erected in 1780 over a pre-existing church. The bell tower has parts from the 9th/10th and 14th centuries. Just outside the city is San Daniele Abbey (11th century). 6 km from the city is also 11th Century Praglia Abbey. The abbey church of the Assumption, with a marble portal from 1548, has a Renaissance style interior.
