Southampton is the largest city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire on the south coast of England. It lies at the confluence of the River Test and River Itchen, with the River Hamble joining to the south of the urban area. Southampton is noted for its association with the RMS Titanic. The city is home to the longest surviving stretch of medieval walls in England, as well as a number of museums such as Tudor House Museum, Southampton Maritime Museum; God's House Tower, an archaeology museum about the city's heritage; the Medieval Merchant's House; and Solent Sky, which focuses on aviation. The SeaCity Museum which focuses on Southampton's trading history and on the RMS Titanic.

A Coruna is a city and municipality in Galicia, Spain. A Coruna is a busy port located on a promontory in the entrance of an estuary in a large gulf on the Atlantic Ocean. It provides a distribution point for agricultural goods from the region. The city is the site of the Roman Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse which has been in continuous operation since possibly the 2nd century AD. It has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The city is also well known for its characteristic glazed window balconies, called galerias. The two main beaches of A Coruna (Orzan and Riazor) are located in the heart of the city and are bordered by a promenade.

Today Funchal is a major tourist town, with hotels, port, and an international airport Funchal Airport (FNC), located in the nearby municipality of Santa Cruz. Besides the city of Funchal, tourist destinations include: Ribeira Brava, Curral das Freiras, Porto Moniz, Santana, the Laurisilva forest, a UNESCO Natural Site, in the center of Madeira Island and the beaches in Porto Santo island. There is also a passenger gondola lift (Funchal Passenger Ropeway), that transports people from the lower section of the city to the suburb of Monte and another that runs between Monte and the Botanical Gardens.

Legend has it that the city was founded in the 8th century BC by the Phoenicians who called it “Gadir.” When it turned into a Roman port city – an important center for trade, entertainment, and fine cuisine – it became known as “Gades.” The city’s splendor declined during the Muslim period but flourished again after the discovery of America as Columbus set out on his 2nd and 4th voyages from here, returning with precious metals and a host of other treasures.

Vigo is a city and municipality situated in north-western Spain, in the province of Pontevedra, in the Spanish autonomous community of Galicia on the Atlantic Ocean. The municipality of one of the more important Roman centers of Pontevedra. Although within the city one will not find much Romanesque architecture, it can be seen a few kilometers away from the city center. In many of the municipality's neighborhoods and parishes a large number of Roman ruins remain. Vigo retains some interesting examples of Romanesque churches in southern Galicia.
