  • Oxford Postcard

    Oxford is a city in South East England. The city is known worldwide as the home of Oxford University, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. Buildings in Oxford demonstrate examples of every English architectural period since the arrival of the Saxons, including the mid-18th-century Radcliffe Camera. Oxford is known as the "city of dreaming spires". Oxford has numerous major tourist attractions, many belonging to the university and colleges. As well as several famous institutions, the town centre is home to Carfax Tower and the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, both of which offer views over the spires of the city.

  • Brighton

    Brighton is a town on the south coast of Great Britain. The ancient settlement of "Brighthelmstone" dates from before 1086, but it emerged as a health resort featuring sea bathing during the 18th century, was used as a seaside getaway by the Prince Regent, and became a highly popular destination for day-trippers from London after the arrival of the railway in 1841. Notable attractions include The Royal Pavilion (a former royal palace), Brighton Marine Palace and Pier (opened at 1899) and Brighton clocktower. The seafront has bars, restaurants, nightclubs, sports facilities and amusement arcades, principally between the piers.

  • Winchester

    Winchester is a city and the county town of Hampshire, England. The city lies at the heart of the wider City of Winchester, and is located at the western end of the South Downs National Park, along the course of the River Itchen. Winchester's major landmark is Winchester Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, with the distinction of having the longest nave and overall length of all Gothic cathedrals in Europe. The city is also home to the University of Winchester and Winchester College, the oldest public school in the United Kingdom.

    Canterbury is an historic English cathedral city and UNESCO World Heritage Site in South East England. It lies on the River Stour. Canterbury Cathedral is one of the most famous religious structures in the world. Many historical structures remain, including a city wall founded in Roman times and rebuilt in the 14th century, the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and a Norman castle, and perhaps the oldest school in England, The King's School. Modern additions include the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University College for the Creative Arts, The American University - Canterbury, the Marlowe Theatre, and the St Lawrence Ground, home to Kent County Cricket Club.

    Windsor is a town and unparished area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. It is widely known as the site of Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British Royal Family. As a result of the castle, Windsor is a popular tourist destination and has facilities usually found in larger towns: two railway stations, a theatre and several substantial hotels. The town is also the location of Legoland Windsor, which is the only Legoland park in the United Kingdom and the largest Legoland park in the world in terms of area.

  • Rye, UK

    Rye is a small town in East Sussex, England, at the confluence of three rivers: the Rother, the Tillingham and the Brede. Rye has a reputation as a centre for shops trading antiques, collectors' books and records, and has many art galleries selling works by local artists and potters with changing exhibitions throughout the year. Rye also stands at the centre of a network of nature reserves, some of national importance. The Rye Harbour SSSI lies to the south and includes the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

    Reading is a large town in the ceremonial county of Berkshire. It is an important commercial centre in the Thames Valley and Southern England, and Reading town centre is a major shopping centre. The main shopping street is Broad Street, which runs between The Oracle in the east and Broad Street Mall. Every year Reading hosts the Reading Festival - on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Beer Festival is also held here annuall every May. Local landmarks include The Maiwand Lion in Forbury Gardens - an unofficial symbol of Reading, The Blade building, Jacksons Corner, Reading Abbey, Greyfriars Church, St Laurence's Church, and Reading Minster.

    Chichester is a cathedral city in West Sussex, in South-East England. It has a long history as a settlement; its Roman past and its subsequent importance in Anglo-Saxon times are only its beginnings. It is the seat of a bishopric, with a 12th-century cathedral, and is home to some of the oldest churches and buildings in Great Britain. Chichester today is a centre for culture in the region, with a theatre, museum and two art galleries. Nearby Chichester Harbour, together with the South Downs and the city walls, provide opportunities for outdoor pursuits.

  • Kingston-near-Lewes

    Lewes is the county town of the administrative county of East Sussex, England. The town is the location of several significant historic buildings, including Lewes Castle, the remains of Lewes Priory, Bull House, Southover Grange and public gardens, and a sixteenth-century timber-framed Wealden hall house known as Anne of Cleves House. The Round House, a secluded former windmill in Pipe Passage, was owned by the writer Virginia Woolf.

    The Isle of Wight, is a county and the largest island of England, located in the English Channel, separated from mainland United Kingdom by a strait called the Solent. The island has several resorts which have been holiday destinations since Victorian times. Home to the poets Swinburne and Tennyson and to Queen Victoria, who built her much-loved summer residence and final home Osborne House at East Cowes, the island has a maritime and industrial tradition including boat building, sail making, the manufacture of flying boats, the world's first hovercraft, and the testing and development of Britain's space rockets.

  • PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR

    Portsmouth is the second largest city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire on the south coast of England. Portsmouth is notable for being the United Kingdom's only island city; it is mainly on Portsea Island. As a significant naval port for centuries, Portsmouth is home to the world's oldest dry dock still in use and also home to some famous ships, including HMS Warrior, the Tudor carrack Mary Rose and Lord Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory. Most of Portsmouth's tourist attractions are related to its naval history. Among the attractions are the D-Day museum which holds in his dockyard, HMS Victory, the remains of Henry VIII's flagship, and the Mary Rose (raised from the seabed in 1982),

  • Sandwich is a historic town and civil parish on the River Stour in the district of Dover, south-east England. It was one of the Cinque Ports and still has many original medieval buildings, including several listed public houses and gates in the old town walls, churches, almshouses and the White Mill. While once a major port, it is now two miles from the sea, its historic centre preserved. Sandwich Bay is home to nature reserves and two world-class golf courses.
