Today, Brisbane is well known for its distinct Queenslander architecture which forms much of the city's built heritage. The city is a popular tourist destination, serving as a gateway for visitors to the state of Queensland, particularly to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, popular resort towns immediately south and north of Brisbane, respectively. Several large cultural, international and sporting events have been held at Brisbane.

Cannes is a famous upscale seaside resort town in the Riviera, it offers fantastic beaches, food, and nightlife.

Marseille is the second largest city in France, after Paris. Marseille is listed as a major center of art and history. Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The Cinque Terre area is a very popular tourist destination.

Bari is the capital city of the province of Bari on the Adriatic Sea. It is well known as a port and university city, as well as the city of Saint Nicholas. The city itself has a population of about 320,475, as of 2011. Main sights in Bari include the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, Bari Cathedral, Petruzzelli Theatre, Swabian Castle and many more. Bari's cuisine, one of Italy's most traditional and noteworthy, is based on three typical agricultural products found within the surrounding region of Apulia, namely wheat, olive oil and wine. The local cuisine is also enriched by the wide variety of fruit and vegetables produced locally.

A most striking town, Matera seems to hail straight from the middle ages, rich in churches, fine buildings, and history.

Famed for its traditional and somewhat peculiar trulli buildings, this historic little town is a national cultural monument.

This coastal town is full of history, featuring a lovely Old Town, nice seafood eateries, and several notable historic relics.

Fremantle is a major Australian port city in Western Australia, located at the mouth of the Swan River. Fremantle Harbour serves as the port of Perth, the state capital. Fremantle was the first area settled by the Swan River colonists in 1829. It was declared a city in 1929, and has a population of approximately 27,000. The city is named after Captain Charles Fremantle, the English naval officer who established a camp at the site on 2 May 1829. The city contains well-preserved 19th century buildings and other heritage features.

Hamilton Island is the largest inhabited island of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia. The island is a popular tourist destination since it is located in the Great Barrier Reef. Visitors can catch glimpses of migrating whales as they make their way through the warm waters of the Whitsundays from July through September each year.

Known for its immense artificial lagoon, Airlie Beach also offers great access to the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding nature.

A nice alternative to the tourist-filled resort towns, Mackay is a popular base for exploring the nearby Great Barrier Reef.

Katoomba is well known for spectacular mountain views and extensive bush and nature walks in the surrounding Blue Mountains. Katoomba's main industry is tourism based on its mountain scenery. The rock formation known as the Three Sisters, viewable from Echo Point about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the main town, is the most famous feature, and attracts some four million visitors each year. Other features of the Jamison Valley visible from Echo Point include Mount Solitary and the rock formation known as the Ruined Castle. A short walk from Echo Point leads to The Giant Stairway which provides access to a number of nature walks through the Valley.

Port Macquarie is known for its extensive beaches and waterways. Beaches are: North Shore, Town Beach, Oxley Beach, Rocky Beach, Flynns Beach, Nobbys Beach, Shelly Beach, Miners Beach and Lighthouse Beach. Only Town, Flynns and Lighthouse Beaches are manned by Surf Life Saving Clubs. Lighthouse Beach is patrolled at only the northern end.

Byron Bay is a beachside town located in the far-northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 772 kilometres (480 mi) north of Sydney and 165 kilometres (103 mi) south of Brisbane. Cape Byron, a headland adjacent to the town, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia. The local Arakwal Aboriginal people's name for the area is Cavvanbah, meaning "meeting place". Lieutenant James Cook named Cape Byron after Naval officer John Byron, circumnavigator of the world and grandfather of the poet Lord Byron.
