Slovenia Slovenian Littoral

Portorož is an Adriatic - Mediterranean coastal settlement in the Municipality of Piran in southwestern Slovenia. It is one of the grandest seaside resorts in Europe and is one of the country's major tourist areas. Located in the town's centre is the Hotel Palace - one of the finest hotels between Venice and Dubrovnik. Located in the western part of Portorož is the Bernardin tourist complex. Bernardin also houses several casinos such as Casino Riviera, Grand Casino and Casino Bernardin.

Izola is an old fishing town in southwestern Slovenia on the Adriatic coast of the Istrian peninsula. In 1820, a thermal spring was discovered in Izola, leading to the town's earliest forms of tourism. Izola has many hotels near the sea, a famous discothèque Ambasada Gavioli, many art galleries, summer concerts, street performances and a movie festival.

Bovec is a town in the Littoral region in northwestern Slovenia, close to border with Italy. Area destinations include Boka Falls, Mount Triglav, the Soča River, Lake Krn, the Kanin (Sella Nevea) ski resort, the Vršič Pass, and the mountain road to the Mangart Saddle. Activities around Bovec include kayaking, rafting, hiking (the Peace Trail from Bovec to Fort Kluže, the Soča Trail, and the Alpe-Adria Trail) and fishing. In recent years, the area has become increasingly popular with advertisers and filmmakers and part of the Disney film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was shot here.

Sežana is a town in the Slovenian Littoral region of Slovenia, near the border with Italy. The town has a botanical park, a memorial room commemorating the poet Srečko Kosovel, a walking trail from Sežana to Tomaj dedicated to the poet and the Tabor nature trail. The parish church in the town is dedicated to Saint Martin and was built in 1878 on the site of an older church from the early 16th century, after it became an independent parish. Many tourist sights in the vicinity, such as the Lipica Stud Farm, Postojna Cave, Škocjan Caves, Vilenica Cave, and the fortified village of Štanjel, make Sežana an attractive tourist destination.

Kobarid is a small town in Slovenia known for the 1917 Battle of Caporetto. The municipality is the westernmost in Slovenia, situated within the Julian Alps in the Upper Soča Valley, at the confluence with the Nadiža River, close to the border with Italy. Kobarid has been inhabited since prehistoric times and archaeological remains from the Hallstatt period have been found in the area. The nearby Tonocov Grad archaeological site has remains of 5th-century Roman buildings.

Štanjel is a village in the Municipality of Komen in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located on the Karst Plateau overlooking the Vipava Valley. The castle of Štanjel was built in the Middle Ages now hosts an art gallery with a permanent collection of the graphic artist Lojze Spacal's work. The Ferrari Garden is a major landmark in the settlement and one of the most visited ones. It was designed by Maks Fabiani at the request of Enrico Ferrari. The garden is located below the village, next to a villa and is popular among tourists because of its design and the view it offers of the Karst landscape below.

Celje is the third-largest town in Slovenia. It is a regional center of Lower Styria, located below Upper Celje Castle at the confluence of the Savinja, Hudinja, Ložnica, and Voglajna rivers in the lower Savinja Valley. Local sights in town include a Grayfriars' monastery founded in 1241 and a palace from the 16th century.
