Sweden Lapland

Kiruna is the northernmost town in Sweden, located in lapland. It is a popular travel destination for both Swedish and international tourists, mostly because of its world famous Icehotel. The northern location makes it a good place to observe the midnight sun and northern lights. Abisko National Park is a summer-time attraction. hiking in the mountains around the area and on trails such as Kungsleden and Nordkalottruta, rafting, canoeing and boat trips on the surrounding lakes are also popular. The annual Kiruna festival is a music festival in the midnight sun.

Arvidsjaur is a town in Norrbotten County, Lapland in Sweden. Arvidsjaur is a center for the European car industry. During the winter months, major car-manufacturers perform arctic trials in the Arvidsjaur Municipality. The town fosters tourism by offering snowmobile tours, trekking, skiing, fishing and dogsled rides.

Jukkasjärvi is a small town located in Norrbotten County, Sweden. The village is a popular tourist accommodation during the winter months and is best known for its ice hotel. The wooden church is the oldest building in the village and is well known for its wooden carved altar piece triptych by Bror Hjorth.

Gallivare is a locality and the seat of Gallivare Municipality in Norrbotten County, province of Lapland, Sweden. The town was founded in the 17th century. Gallivare is situated at the northern end of the Inlandsbanan railway line, just about 100 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Outside Gallivare lies the ski resort Dundret, which is equipped with six ski lifts and ten groomed slopes along with a conference center and hotel. The ski season stretches from the end of October all the way into early May. The town has been host for several World Cup skiing events, both alpine and cross-country.

Lycksele is a locality in the province of Lapland, Sweden, with about 8,000 inhabitants. It is the oldest lasting Sami settlement in Swedish Lappland. The first Swedish Sami school, Skytteanska skolan, was built here in 1634.
