Luleå is a city on the coast of northern Sweden. The world’s first indoor mall was built in Luleå and was named Shopping, there are two other malls in Luleå, Strand and Smedjan. The main shopping streets in Luleå are Storgatan and Kungsgatan, a couple of kilometers outside of Luleå there is a shopping center called Storheden. Luleå Hamnfestival (Luleå harbor festival) is a big summer event in the center of Luleå, held in July andis a free event. Musikens makt (The power of music) is a smaller music festival that is each summer in August at Gültzauudden since 2010. This is a free concert.

Gallivare is a locality and the seat of Gallivare Municipality in Norrbotten County, province of Lapland, Sweden. The town was founded in the 17th century. Gallivare is situated at the northern end of the Inlandsbanan railway line, just about 100 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Outside Gallivare lies the ski resort Dundret, which is equipped with six ski lifts and ten groomed slopes along with a conference center and hotel. The ski season stretches from the end of October all the way into early May. The town has been host for several World Cup skiing events, both alpine and cross-country.

Pitea is known for its pitepalt, a food dish consisting of potato dumplings with chopped pork filling. The area is also known for its dialect, called Pitemal, which however is mainly spoken by elders in surrounding villages. Pitea received its city privileges on May 12, 1621. In July, 1666, the entire town burnt down, and over the following few years it was rebuilt on Haggholmen, a small island which forms the nucleus of present-day Pitea. In 1721, the new town was burnt down by Russian troops, and the only building that remained was the church, which is still standing. The town square, where the town hall is located, has kept its structure from the 17th century.

Alvsbyn (translates to "the river village") is a locality and the seat of Alvsbyn Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden with 4,967 inhabitants in 2010. Alvsbyn has a railway station that is served by trains running between Boden and Stockholm along the Swedish east coast. It also features a Youth Hostel with a small recreational park, including a swimming pool.

The town of Boden started as a railway junction where the Northern Line (Norra stambanan, opened 1894) met with the Ore Line (Malmbanan) from the rich iron ore fields in northern Sweden. The town experienced increased growth when the Boden Fortress was constructed in the beginning of the 20th century. The purpose of the fortress was to defend Sweden from a possible attack from the east, where Russia was considered the most dangerous threat. The first official writings about Boden, was in a 1500~ tax paper, where the mention of "Boden village" with 7 homes. Boden got the title of city in 1919. This title became obsolete in 1971 and Boden is now the seat of Boden Municipality.

Jokkmokk is a locality and the seat of Jokkmokk Municipality in Norrbotten County, province of Lapland, sweden. Jokkmokk Market has a long history and every first Thursday in February every year, thousands and thousands of people gather in Jokkmokk for concerts, exhibitions and trade. It is one of the most important social events for the Sámi people in Sápmi. Ájtte, Svenskt fjäll- och samemuseum is the main museum for Sámi culture in Sweden.
