Donetsk has been a major economic, industrial and scientific centre of Ukraine with a high concentration of companies and a skilled workforce. Its primary attractions include the Park of Forged Figures, Donetsk Botanical Garden, Donbas Liberators Memorial Complex, Akvasferra Aquapark, Planetarium, and more.

The unofficial capital of the Donets Basin, this city offers many examples of fine architecture, great parks, and several museums.
