  • Vodice. Croatia

    Vodice is a very popular tourist destination in Croatia, with most of the population oriented towards tourism and providing accommodation for visitors in hotels, apartments and houses. Vodice has a variety of pebble and sandy beaches. The well-known Hacienda Night Club is located in Vodice. On the nearby hill Okit during the Turkish invasions, refugees founded a settlement and on its top the chapel Lady of Mercy was built in 1660, which was ruined in WW2 and later reconstructed.

  • Sibenik Cathedral, Croatia 4

    The central church in Šibenik, the Cathedral of St. James, is on theUNESCO World Heritage list. Several successive architects built it completely in stone between 1431 and 1536, both in Gothic and in Renaissance style. The interlocking stone slabs of the Cathedral's roof were damaged when the city was shelled by Serbian forces in 1991. The damage has since been repaired.

  • Primosten

    Primošten is famous for its huge and beautiful vineyards. A photo of the vineyards of Primošten hung in the UN center in New York. Apart from its vineyards, Primošten is also known for the traditional donkey race that takes place there every summer. The largest beach in Primošten is called Raduča, and its smaller part, Mala Raduča, is voted one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Croatia. The area's vineyards are currently under consideration to become a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Rogoznica

    Rogoznica is a popular tourist village on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia that lies in the southernmost part of the Šibenik-Knin County, in a deep bay sheltered from wind, about 30 km from Šibenik. The part of Rogoznica that lies on the mainland was populated already in 1390. In 1518 the inhabitants fled in front of the Turkish army to safety of the nearby islet. The warmest months are July and August, when rain is rare.

  • Betina.

    Many historical sites tell us about the settlement of this area. The remnants of a Roman villa in Ivinj date back to the 1C. The parish church of St.Spirit's from 1548 was renewed in baroque style in 1640 and enlarged in 1840. The church tower was built in 1684 by the local architects. The church of Our Lady of Caravaggio is a votive church of the Italian family of Gelpis built at the beginning of the 18th century. Each year on 26 May, thousands of pilgrims come from all over the world. Tisno has a memorial-site dedicated to the hundreds of Croatian civilians killed and dropped into a local pit in the aftermath of World War II by the communist Yugoslav regime.
